Use Google Analytics to find out where your web site and blog traffic is coming from

Use Google Analytics to find out where your web site and blog traffic is coming from.   If you are not using a web site statistics program I would highly recommend Google Analytics.  First of all it’s web based and it’s free.  You can’t beat that.  Also, it’s Google, and what are we all looking for these days but that elusive Google Juice, so why not use their statistics service.

Google Analytics is a way for you to see how many people are visiting your web site or blog, how they are finding your site, where the visitor is located in the world and so much more information.  You are able to see how long they were on your site and the bounce rate (how often a visitor left after just seeing the first page they landed on).

I know all the great information that is provided is meant for so many useful purposes but I tell you, I get such a kick out of checking my statistics every so often and seeing where in the world my visitors are coming from.  It’s fun to see that I have visitors from Poland, Russia, Greece, Bulgaria, and several other foreign countries.  I’m sure they were accidents in someway but makes me curious nonetheless.  And right here in the old U.S. most of my visitors are from here in Texas and more specifically my local area but I also have some visitors from many other states.

Google Analytics is easy to use, informative, and it’s fun as well.  Especially if you are not using anything to track your web site or blog stats, I highly recommend it. Check it out at http://www.google.com/analytics/
