2013 SRT Viper pricing unveiled

I’m always had a fondness for the Viper going back to when it originally debuted. I would go so far as to say it’s one of my favorite sports/muscle cars, but there’s a lot to like with any Viper model. It’s hard to deny the appeal of the gigantic V10 engine. When Dodge discontinued the Viper, I was glad to see the Viper come back for 2013 as an SRT model.

SRT will offer the two models in 2013, the 2013 Viper and the 2013 SRT Viper GTS. The difference between the two cars is the same as it always been, the normal Viper has the removable top while the GTS is a coupe. Both have the same 8.4-liter V10 engine producing a whopping 640 HP and 600 pound-foot of torque.

The massive all aluminum 8.4-liter engine produces the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports car engine in the world. Along with all that power, SRT also reduce the weight of the 2013 Viper models by triple digit numbers to give the new Viper the best power to weight ratio the car has ever boasted. SRT notes that orders are expected to open in mid-November and pricing has now been unveiled.

The 2013 SRT Viper will carry an MSRP of $97,395 excluding a $1995 destination charge. The 2013 SRT Viper GTS will carry an MSRP of $120,395 plus the same $1995 destination charge. The GTS version gets two-mode active suspension for better performance on the track.

Infinitec Pocket would TV unveiled

Infinitec has introduced the Pocket TV, which is an Android 4.0-powered HDMI micro computer which is capable of transforming any TV into a Smart TV, making this a small miracle that you might just want to discover for yourself. This Pocket TV can now be pre-ordered on KickStarter, where it has been touted to be one of the world’s smallest computers. Capable of functioning as a fully functioning micro-computer that measures roughly the size of your thumb, it has enough processing power underneath the hood which will enable you to display Android on your TV, transforming it into a really large sized tablet.

With the Pocket TV, you are able to download apps from the Google Play Store in order to stream videos, play games, hook up with the rest of your friends on Facebook, in addition to reading up on what is happening on the world front where news is concerned, perform some work, or just to surf the Internet. Not only that, you are able to hook up a video camera to perform Skype video-calls on your TV.

Since the Pocket TV is diminutively sized, you are able to tote it with you wherever you go, but there is also the risk of you losing it because it is just so small. Imagine plugging it into a projector, and your presentation can be played from the cloud (for example, a Dropbox account), or locally from the SD memory card.

According to Ahmad Zahran, Founder of Infinitec, “Our motivation to create the Pocket TV was that we found ourselves with too many gadgets. Nowadays we had a smartphone, a tablet and a laptop and we thought wouldn’t it be great to have one small portable solution that did what all these gadgets do but on a big screen TV. Pocket TV will give users a simple solution to accessing their digital life, surfing the internet, streaming video, playing games, doing video-conferences and much more from anywhere and on any TV or monitor. Unlike with smartphones and tablets they will be able to do all this on a large screen with something that literally fits into their pocket.”

Other multimedia capabilities of the Pocket TV include the ability to stream video, which means you can watch YouTube, Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Videos on your TV in HD glory, instead of doing so on a tiny computer screen. Audio capabilities of the Pocket TV are also worth noting – it functions as a streaming device for music, letting you play all content on your computer or home network drive (NAS).

You can place a pre-order for the Pocket TV for $99 at the moment, although the regular price stands at $160.

Sony PulzAR game unveiled

Sony is making good on its promise to make sure those “AR Play” augmented reality cards don’t become quickly irrelevant. The company has announced a new game called PulzAR, which will allow players to use their PlayStation Vita camera in conjunction with the special AR cards in a bright and colorful puzzle game. It looks complicated, but hopefully it’s one of those titles that seems easier once you actually get your hands on it.

“You see, in PulzAR, the Earth is in grave danger. Somewhere just beyond our planet’s outer atmosphere, a series of colossal asteroids are spinning ever closer on a deadly collision course to wipe out humankind. So far, all attempts to divert their trajectory have failed. Now, in mankind’s desperate last stand against certain catastrophe, it’s up to you to command a network of explosive rockets and try to blast the asteroids into a harmless meteor shower before they reach Earth,” described Sony in a PlayStation Blog post.

Augmented reality has become one of those technologies that seems really captivating and fascinating on paper, but in practical execution it ends up seeming clunky. It is a part of both the 3DS and the PlayStation Vita as they try to differentiate themselves from smartphones and tablets, although there are AR applications from Android and the iPhone as well. It just isn’t really taking off.

Top 5 Smartphones unveiled at MWC 2012

Biggest show of the mobile industry has come to an end. Like every year, Mobile World Congress was packed with tons of phone and tablet launches. Here we are covering top 5 smartphone unveiled by popular brands.

Yes it runs on crappy Symbian but still makes up to the list of top five. Reason behind all this is a whopping 41 megapixel camera  which you expected to see on any smartphone by 2013 or even later. The phone features a 1.3 GHz processor and 4 inch display with resolution of 640 x 360 pixels. Whats more surprising is the phone winning the official Best of Show award at Mobile World Congress. Well no one expected this award will be going to Nokia, atleast I didn’t. But 41 megapixel camera on a phone is really a big deal. The official sample pictures clicked by the phone have been also uploaded to Flickr by NokiaOfficial.

HTC One X is the first phone running on Quad Core Processor. Its sports a 8 Megapixel with auto focus, smart LED flash, and BSI sensor for capturing some amazing moments of your life. The phone also has stunning 4.7 inch HD display with resolution of 1280*720 pixels. ONE X is my personal favorite not just because of powerful processor but also because of its design, build quality, beats audio, HTC Sense 4 & some of the cool new features introduced for the first time.

Second phone in the HTC X lineup, ONE V shares some of its specifications with Rhyme. The phone is powered by 1 GHz dual core processor, 512 MB of RAM, 5 Megapixel camera with 720p Video Recording and lastly 3.7 inch display with resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. HTC ONE V also has beats audio and is expected to hit stores with ONE X & ONE S in first week of April 2012. Pre-order is already up on Clove UK for ONE X at £410.00, ONE S at £375.00  and ONE V at £220.00. Credit for high pricing goes only to Beats.

I know Lumia was announced at CES 2012 but that was only LTE version with AT&T, America’s leading network. But finally after a month wait, Nokia has finally announced the global version (unlocked) available in its usual colors white, cyan and black.  The phone is powered by 1.4 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM with 4.3? AMOLED display. It sports a 8 Megapixel camera with LED flash. Lumia 900 will be available in Q2 of 2012 and will retail for 480€.

No, Its just not a single thing. This is a phone, a tablet and a netbook.  Confused? Well, Let me explain. Asus, the Taiwan based smartphone and tablet manufacturer has unveiled the much awaited Padfone running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The phone features a 4.3 inch display and when it is placed inside the optional PadFone Station, it transforms into a 10.1 inch tablet with five times more powerful battery. Pure Magic, isn’t it?  There is more, if you now connect the tablet to an optional accessory such as keyboard the battery life is 9 times more.
