So just when you thought that you have managed to escape the shadow the of Angry Birds franchise, here we are with another “attack” of those feathered fiends, where it will tear out a £49.99 hole in your pocket, as though there were some Bad Piggies residing in there. The Angry Birds Air Swimmer will literally be transformed from its presence in smartphones, tablets and Smart TVs to the air, and you need not exhaust yourself by flinging it, but rather, use a far more elegant method of piloting it via remote control.
Of course, it goes without saying that common sense needs to be applied when you fly the Angry Birds Air Swimmer around the home – it is best to avoid expensive vases or the urn that holds your great grandmother’s ashes, while not touching moving ceiling fans is also another brilliant idea. It is filled with helium, and each purchase will also come with a King Pig balloon for you to re-enact the final level in Angry Birds games. Touted to be of high quality and durable, this Angry Bird is capable of remaining inflated for weeks on end, and is a snap to refill.
Do you find it rather interesting that a game like Angry Birds have actually branched out to be such a phenomenally successful gaming franchise, so much so that I believe anything else that Rovio releases (which they did with Amazing Alex) will never be able to live up to the Angry Birds folklore and reputation. In fact, you can call Angry Birds as the Golden Goose of Rovio, and another golden egg has just been laid – this time around merging with yet another hugely successful movie franchise that was recently sold to Disney – Star Wars. What do you get when you put two and two together? Why, Angry Birds Star Wars, of course!
Rovio of Finland has certainly come up with a hit of game with the Angry Birds franchise, and here they are with their latest launch, the Angry Birds Land which recently opened up within Sarkanniemi Amusement Park itself in Tampere, Finland. This is officially the first theme park of its kind that is based on the Angry Birds franchise, going great lengths to show just how far the addictive smartphone game has become. Of course, we did hear about an unlicensed Angry Birds park appearing in China last year, but this is the real deal here in Finland.
